New Zealand Senior Men’s National Team

The New Zealand Senior Men’s National Team proudly represents Aotearoa on the international stage, competing with passion, intensity, and a strong team first culture. The programme continues to grow its player base and high-performance standards while developing talent across the country. Looking ahead, the squad is preparing for major events including the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship, where they aim to continue lifting New Zealand’s presence and success globally.

The New Zealand Men’s team proudly competed at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Men’s Lacrosse Championship, held in Wellington, New Zealand from 6–11 January 2026. This event served as the Asia-Pacific qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Japan, with the top four teams earning qualification. The NZ Team opened strong, securing a 10-6 win over Hong Kong, China in the play-in round to advance to the semifinals, demonstrating resilience and teamwork on home soil.

In the semifinals, New Zealand faced a tough challenge against the Philippines, finishing with a 7-12 result. This set up a competitive bronze medal match against Japan. In the bronze medal game, New Zealand battled hard but were edged out 9–5, concluding in fourth place overall in the tournament.

Despite missing out on a medal, the team’s performance secured qualification for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship, marking another important milestone in the squad’s international journey. Congratulations to the squad and support staff for their efforts in a highly competitive field and to all players for representing Aotearoa with pride.
