The NZWLA committee has reviewed the previously restricted entry requirements for the
New Zealand Secondary Schools Champs Tournament (NZSS Champs).
In order to ensure that schools have time to plan and prepare for the NZSS Champs, the NZWLA committee voted to decide that from this year’s NZSS Champs, entries will be open to all teams that qualify for the top division/grade of their region’s high school league the previous year of the tournament.
Expressions of interest will be sent to regions to allow NZWLA to plan for the format and structure of that year’s tournament. The expression of interest is not a commitment to enter.

Timeline for 2021 NZSS Champs:
15 April 2021 – expressions of interests open
31 May 2021 – expressions of interest close
23 July 2021 – final entry information and event health and safety plans sent to schools
9 August – final entries due
3-5 September 2021 – NZSS Champs
Monthly updates from June onwards will be sent to schools who have filled in an EOI.

December year prior – expressions of interest open
May year of tournament – expressions of interest close
July – final entry information
September – NZSS Champs
